The word “hymn” is derived from a Greek word, meaning “a song of praise”. By definition, a hymn is a song written for the express purpose of adoration or prayer. Hymns often evoke a sense of awe as we recall the majesty of God larger than our minds can comprehend.
I am embarking on a study of some hymns that I grew up hearing in church. As I do so, I hope to share a bit of what I’m learning. During this study, I will be releasing some special prints–some on canvas, some available as downloads. I hope you will be encouraged as we journey together.
Do you have any favorite hymns? Is there a hymn that evokes a memory of something that God has done in your life? Have you ever studied the background of a hymn?
This print, “Then Sings My Soul”, is my gift to you. Please enjoy this free download. Click on the link below to access the .pdf file.

“Sing to the LORD a new song; Sing to the LORD, all the earth. Sing to the LORD, bless His name; Proclaim good tidings of His salvation from day to day.”
